Timeline   Mission Time T-30
The FHew streaked through the Peloc Rot system, cloak engaged. The planet Peloc Rot II itself was a mess of dense jungle punctated by srawling industrial cities, with the ocasional swamp and shallow lake. While there was plenty of surface water, it was not collected by high and low lands as on Earth, rather the whole planet's surface only differed in height by a few meters in total. The two tiny moons caused very weak tides, but enough to mean most of the planet would be under a meter or more of water at some point during the day.

There were a number of battle fleets gathering at different points, and floating orbital defence platforms. Many groups were arguing over the planet and its resources. Whenever a ship strayed too far from it's protective fleet it was met with deadly force. Regular straffing rounds and orbital bombardments of opposing cities were occuring on a nearly hourly basis.

Ro' smiled at the scene. These people were serious about war, but their strategies and tools were weak.

"Hay'legh, take us into high orbit. Keep us clear of patrols and acidental fire. Jared, is there a way to find JechwI' from orbit?"

Hay'Legh grunted at the implied insult that she would even let them be hit by 'accidental fire' and wondered what Ro's empirical measurement of a high orbit actually was...

"The F'Hew's sensors lack the resolution to discern a specific Klingon bio-sign with interference from weapons-fire and background oceanic biomass. But if he's still in his own kit he'll be wearing various bits of Klingon alloy and probably have a low level Klingon power-source on him somewhere. With those three factors I can run geo-metallurgical and emissions scans with the bio-scan and probably corelate a position, althought the accuracy will be reletive to our distance."

Ro' shot a look at the Science officer, "Will that be as boring as it sounds?"

"Umm... not for you. I can probably find him once we're close enough."

"Do it. Leah, set us a search pattern."

"Starting a search pattern, This won't be too much help unless we find a more concentrated target. The other ships probably have jamming frequencies set up." Leah took a moment to glance through the viewport as well as her screen for better clarity.

By the time the FHew had done the second high orbit sweep of the planet Jared had narrowed the search to a single city instalation. Unfortunately it was guarded by an Orbital Defence Platform and a wing of five fighter ships. However as they approached the fighter ships began moving off to enagae another craft trying to do a straffing run.

"Hay'legh, can you get us past the fighters and defence satelite without being seen?"

The Rihan turned and glared at Ro'. "Of course I can. It's the main reason you tolerate having me on board."

Ro' smiled, "Good, don't bother. Marla, drop the cloak. May'bel, target the satelite. Full Torpedoe spread! Hay'legh, corcrkscrew attack vector. Go!"

Hay'Legh lighty touched the controls, and without warning the F'Hew pitched down for a few seconds before rolling to starboard, jerking and tossing around anyone not strapped into their seats.

Another tap at the controls put on a burst of speed and pitched the B'rel steeply back up and into another starboard roll, neatly avoiding the fighters and bringing the ship up into an attack vector with the satellite.

The fire from the sattelite spattered across the sheilds. The sattelite wasn't particularly accurate, but it put out a lot of fire, and the F'Hew jolted with each hit.

As they closed, distruptor fire strafed the surface of the sattelite, weakening up the sheilds. Then a volley of torpedoes streaked out from the F'Hew's launcher, stitching a line of brilliant explosions across the satellite's structure. A moment lated it's primary reactor detonated, tearing it apart in firey blast.

"Satellite targeted," May'Bel reported.

Ro' sat back in his chair watching the three fighters that had survived the other engagement try desperatly to chase after the much bigger and faster FHew.

"Leah, narrow the search over the city."

By the time they were in low orbit, Jared had refined the area to a square kilometre. In that area there were only two structures worthy of note; a large warehouse complex, and a heavy building, possibly a factory. The Warehouse had an open yard which Ro' ordered the FHew to land on.

Ro' turned to his officers as they approached the LZ. "We will touch down and disembark the two teams and the Nephilum. There is a lot of Ionised particles in the area, whether residual radiation from the Factory or goods stored in the warehouse, or from weapons fire. Either way the Transporter is out of action for now."

"Hay'legh, you have free permission to engage any craft who try to approach the area."

"Yes HoD."

"Jared, I need you on the ship to be our eyes in the sky."

"Understood!"

"HIchop, I need you on one of the teams, I don't care which. Warehouse or Factory?"

HIchop shrugged, "Factory."

"Marla, you take the other team. Hand out the weaponry you have gathered."

"Yes, sir!"

"I know both of you have been itching to prove your mettle in combat. Now is the time. Take two Marines each. May'bel, this is your first tour with us. If you want to go with a team I will handle Tactics."

May'Bel grinned. He drew his disruptors to check them.

"With pleasure, HoD!"

"Good, Go with HIchop's team."

"Leah and Marie. You signed up on a Klingon ship, fighting is part of the deal. I want one of you on each search team as a token Human and too keep the comms active."

Marie scowled. Token human. So that’s what I’ve been reduced to. Well, stuff you, Klingon. Time to show you what we humans can do. It was me got you out of prison; it was me worked out how to get those bike things going. What recognition did I get? Promotion? Ha! Asked to lead a team? Not a chance. I’m not a Klingon, so that one’s out. Be damned if I’ll stick my neck out for some wet behind the ears Klingon you’re stuck with trying to mentor. Probably some relative who couldn’t get a better posting. She could go either way though so no point double guessing which team she’ll choose. So which one? I wasn’t particularly impressed by the way Marla handled herself back on that lifeless hunk of rock so...guess that only leaves one option....

“I’ll go with Ne’ Hope,” she said. And that just about sums it up: hope!

"I'm with Marla then" Leah tapped a few keys to hold navigation into an auto pattern, shifted in her seat and briskly went back to collect a few things from her quarters.

"Tell, you will man the Nephilim and hold the LZ for as long as you can."

"Aye Captain," Tell replied. "I can do that."

"As soon as you have located our quarry, radio in and you all fall back for recovery."
