Tell was checking over the Nephilum suit, tightening up a few things here and there. She had added a couple of extras as a back up just in case. She suddenly heard a noise behind her but didn't turn. "I was wondering when you would turn up Marie."

“Sorry I’m late,” Marie said unconvincingly. “A small matter of...oh, I see you managed to snaffle one of those Nephilim things for yourself. Yours is the only one. Instead of securing one for myslef, I've been busy attending to the damage we took. Would’ve been nice to get some assistance. I might have been here sooner.”

"Well you only had to ask and I would have left the elastic band I was winding up to come and help you." Tell sniggered "Which reminds me, I'm low on duct tape too. I swear that this ship is haunted, you can't put anything down because it flaming well walks." Tell had finished with the Nephilim and stored it away. "Now for the light in the hold and this time I'm going armed."

"It's no wonder your duct tape walks. It's a precious commodity around here. I swear it's the only thing holding this ship together." She turned to follow Hope. “I don’t know what that damned Klingon has lined up for us this time but, whatever it is, we’re critically low on supplies. Lucky we could...well, at least some of us could...make use of what we found on the planet to defend ourselves. Mind you, sooner you than me in one of those things. Machines don’t have a life of their own but I’d swear that’s exactly what happened when I strapped myself in one of them. It was as if I was there – not on our battlefield but the one between them Vulcans and the Miletians, or whatever you call them.”

Knowing Uncle Ro' Tell thought he would have something up his sleeve for them and that would probably include blood and guts. She was surprised though when Marie had mentioned the strange feelings she had had on the planet.

"You had that experience too?" asked Tell surprised "I thought that perhaps I had dreamt it because that's what it felt like. I can remember some of it but not all of it and sometimes I've found myself looking for something I've lost." Tell shrugged it off. "I don't know why but I think it was a female who last wore it. What about you?"

“I was too busy keeping myself alive to notice," Marie lied. It had been a distinctly unnerving experience and she had no wish to revisit it. "What do you think about Jared? Why hasn’t the Klingon killed him? Isn’t that what Klingons do about insubordination? What he did went way beyond insubordination yet the Klingon lets him off without so much as a murmur. If it was you or me we’d probably have been beaten to a pulp by now then flayed alive.”

Tell laughed at her. "I have only been on this ship two years." Was it really only two years? she thought "I hardly know anything about Jared at all. He's old, well very old; really old as a matter of fact. Sings songs, writes ballads and likes origami. He and Ro' go back a very long time so I suppose they have some 'history' between them"

“Well I, for one, don’t plan on being here for long enough for there to be any sort of ‘history’ between myself and the Klingon.”
