Ro' gathered the officers into the conference room. He had spread a large blueprint over the table.

"Listen up. Marla has found the name of her Father's killer, and Marie has found where in the town he lives. I have blueproints of the whole house, and Marie has up to date information on this area, the entrance and main coutryard. We need to plan an assault."

"There are only two entrances to the complex; the front door, here, and a shuttle pad, here. We could always use heavy ordinance to blow a hole through the wall, but the local enforcers would deem that to be excesive and unjustafiable under the circumstances. He is likely to have patroling guards in any case. So that mean infiltration, no attack on mass."

"His chief security officer is Thor'nan of house Mal'kor. He has a reputation for competance so do not under estimate him. His standard in any defence is to have a fall back and to draw his enemy out on a protracted chase where he can do strike runs against his exposed flanks. he is likely to have a shuttle on standby. the Fhew will stay in the air to make sure no one escapes by that route. Unfortunatley the pad is too small for us to make a landing for a two pronged assault. Marie, you will take Helm, and I will man Tactical. HIchop will keep up his analysis of the tissue sample to find out as much as he can about the poison."

"This leaves us getting our force throught he main doors. They are security sealed and require a pass code. There are no doubt guards. Tell, you should go to override the security, May'bel, you will need to deal with the guards. Marla should not be involved in combat till she confronts TorvaD. Keep her fresh. And try to keep casualties on both side to a minimum. These are hired guards, and we have no quarell with them."

"Once past the gate you will be in an open courtyard. You will almost immediately come under fire from the guard post, here. It holds two men, but will be difficult to take down. There may also be warriors in the courtyard. Be careful."

"If you get through, the plans state that the private rooms are here. There is a corridor here that leads to the launch pad. I expect that TorvaD will be somewhere between his rooms and the launch pad. Find him, then Marla can issue her challenge."

"A reminder, Tell. Once the issue is challenged, no one may intefere. The guards will stop fighting till the conflict is resolved, because if Marla wins they will no longer be under TorvaD's employment. If Marla loses they will expect the rest of you to leave peacefully. The Rite is for Marla only. No one else can claim it."

"Does anyone have any questions before we begin?"

"Marie, were you able to arrange for Tell, Marla and May'bel to be hidden in the Bregit delivery this afternoon?"

"They'be right out in the open. Tell is carrying the stock, as it were and Marla and May'bel are my delivery boys. In all likelihood we won't all get into the compound but we'll get as close as we can. We should be able to draw some guards out. I can come up with some plausible excuse or other. For that reason, I should be on the ground. It would look suspicious if I don't turn up to deliver what are expensive delicacies."

Ro' looked in surprise at Marie, "You want to go in with the ground troops, despite being out numbered and out gunned? You surprise me, Sogh.

"No offence to Tell and the others but they can't pull this off. It you go in all guns blazing you'll just get us all killed. You need subtlety and deceit to get your foot in the door. Don't worry, they'll be plenty of time for mayhem later."

"Alright, I will get someone else on Helm. What exaclty are the delecasies?"

"You don't know?" Marie asked, truly surprised. "It's Mal'kor DebngejwI'. Our lovely engineer is currently incubating a batch of them. When I said she's carrying the stock, I meant.... Oh, forget it."

"Mal'kor DebngejwI'? I haven't had that since I was only XO on this ship. Where did you find any of that?"

"They're what was chewing on our wiring. Tell and I went searching for the reason. Tell must have come to the attention of a female spider looking for a suitable host. They're not ready to hatch yet so, don't worry, they can be part of the celebratory feast when all this is over."

Ro' just smiled at the budding general, "We'll make a warrior of you yet, Marie!"

"Not if I have any say in it," she replied under her breath.
