"There!" came the shout from the Sensor station.

Across the ravaged and darkening landscape 5 figures could be seen running. Tell in here suit next to the Klingon Beq came first. HIchop, half carrying an injured Jared came second, And Ro' brought up the rear.

When they reached the boarding ramp, Ro' stepped up to Jared and snarled, "This doesn't end here."

Jared nodded. Holding himself together with a bundle of ancient uniforms, he was in little shape to argue.

Ro' leapt past the disassembled Nephilim in the hold and ran to the bridge.

Tell raced to the engine room to make preparations to leave. She never like to be to far away from the FHew not since.... Well that was over now. Right a few flick of the switches, wind up the elastic band and we'll be off in no time.

"Report!" Ro' barked to the bridge crew.

"There is a Federation Ambassador class ship entering the system. It has not detected us."

"What is the name of the Federation ship?"

"It reads as the Jericho."

"Captain Drake," Ro' ground his teeth. "Engage Cloak. Get us off this dustball!"

"Engine room ready when you are" Tell informed him

Out the view-screen, something new appeared - at least, something new for those who'd stayed outside. A dome of something that looked like shimmering water seemed to blossom out of the roof of the complex. It expanded in waves - washing out, sinking back, and then expanding further still. There was no explosion or rubble as it emerged through the roof - the roof was just.... gone.

The Fhew crew watched with alarm as it expanded in leaps and bounds - each pulse expanding more than the last. The pylons and towers on the roof collapsed into it as it ate away their base - and simply vanished as they touched it's surface. A few moments later, it began expanding out though the walls - annihilating the Nephilim waiting at the entrance. The walls collapsed in towards it, and before they knew it the facility itself had vanished - there was only the massive shimmering dome, growing larger and larger.

With a few pulses the sphere began to close the gap between itself and the FHew. Even as the ship lifted off, it was unclear if they would be fast enough not to be consumed - their lift-off path carrying it towards the shimmering shape.

And then the sphere stopped.

The last pulse brought it close to the FHew's hull. As the ship veered desperately away, it simply remained where it was, rippling like a massive dome-shaped lake.

Then it seemed to simply seemed to...go. Like a soap bubble popping, it was simply gone in a flicker of shimmering light.

Beneath them, a massive crater like an almost perfect half circle and a small section of wall where the body of HoS still lay were all that was left of the Miletian command centre.

When they had reached orbit Ro' moved to Leah, "Do you think you can fly this thing?"

When she nodded he turned to the current person on Helm, "Hay'legh, you and Marla report to transporter room. You are going to beam aboard one of those pre-Romulan cruisers and see if you can get her moving again."

Marla ran behind Hay'legh as they went to follow their orders.

,'. Ro' to Jared. You and Tell will be boarding a Miletian cruiser to try and bring it with us. Get yourself to transporter room. tell, keep your suit on. ,'.

"Aye Cap'n" Tell replied

Jared glanced down at the blood soaked uniform clutched against his side. He was beginning to feel a little light-headed.

"Can we take Hichop?"

Ro' considered for a moment before nodding, "Go!"

He sat back in his command chair as the dust ball that had been Miletus dropped away. they could not hope to challenge the Federation for it, now that the Jericho was here, but he'd be damned if he came away empty handed.

USS Jericho

"Captain Drake? We are picking up two ships breaking formation and moving away. Shall we move to intercept?"

Drake stood, moving towards the view-screen and giving the image of the distant vehicles a curious look.

"Scans?"

"I am getting very few life signs on either. One has a Romulan and Klingon, the other has a Human, a Klingon and... I am not sure."

"McDouglas? Tactical threat?"

The Scottsman examined his panel, "Minimal. The Foremost has weakened shields despite it's weaponry. The other has depleted and antiquated weaponry banks. Neither is powering more than basic life support and drive systems. Shall we engage?"

Drake was watching the satellites. Two of them seemed to be tracking something that wasn't actually there.

He looked at the ships trying to sneak quietly away.

"Negative. We're not here to hunt down scavengers. Make sure they stay on a departure heading and keep their weapons off-line, but otherwise let them go. There's plenty of other ships here for the science teams to dissect."

And so it was that the crew of the FHew were able to make it to Klingon space with two large and ancient Carriers...
