“OK,” Marie announced. “I’ve got the perimeter sensors in place. If anyone comes within 50 metres of the landing zone, I’ll know about it.”

Tell came out of the F'hew wearing the Nephilim suit. She felt totally at ease in it. "Hey Marie, I love this suit" she exclaimed to the quartermaster whilst walking down the gangplank. (OOC: is this what its called?) Suddenly a blast of music filled the air and Tell started to dance around. There was something oddly graceful about it in a comical kind of way as she moved first to the left and then to the right.

Marie jumped back and drew her disrupter all in one motion - not bad for someone who handled weapons as infrequently as she possibly could. Aiming took a bit longer, given the suit's jinking motion. "If you're still in there, Hope, get a grip on yourself. If you're not, then I'll fire. I'll give you ten seconds. One...two..three...."

"Ok, ok" sighed Tell when Marie got to five. "You're not in the mood for fun then are you? This damn place gives me the creeps." She said looking around her. "Why is it we never go anywhere nice? Its always some godforsaken hole in some pit of a system where we are always in some kind of mess of one thing or another."

“Sorry, it’s nothing personal, I just find it keeps me alive. I learnt long ago that fun and Marie St. Helene were not compatible. My life has been a series of godforsaken holes where I’m in some kind of mess of one sort or another. When we get out of here – and provided the Klingon doesn’t whisk us away on another dumb-assed mission – I promise I’ll sit and laugh while you play with the suit.”

Tell walked easily setting and resetting the adjustments on her suit. It took the lightest of touches to move about. She practised with taking aim and locking onto targets. Apart from a slight vibration when she touched the firing trigger there seemed to be nothing wrong with it. She would run a diagnostic and recalibrate the firing mechanism. Wouldn't do to have it jam on her in the middle of a fight.

Marie watched her companion fiddle around. It was something she was very good at – little things of no consequence but things that took her mind off all the things that could happen only a few short moments in the future. Things like an excruciatingly painful and lingering death! She forced her hands to stop doing much the same sort of thing. Instead, she settled down with her back to a convenient rock and her rifle across her lap. She hoped she looked relaxed – she doubted it was the case.
