The bar was in full swing. This was a very popular place for Klingons to let their hair down. old enemies fought, old allies tussled, and a good time was had by all.

Thor'nan stood amidst the revelry as a respected warrior. Early in the night a few young bucks had tried their luck against the human, but he had won and word had spread. Now it was nothing but drink and song. That was until a young Klingon in the gear of a High Counsellor approached and tapped him on the shoulder.

"How may I be of service of the High Counsellor? " asked Thor'nan.

The young official gestured to a nearby table. Amidst the revelry they would not be overheard.

"I felt it was time we were introduced," the other began. "I am CoQ, head of House Matlh. You are Thor'nan of House Mal'kor and recently appointed tactical officer of the FHew. I am not sure if you are aware of the honour that position has?"

"I am becoming aware of the significance of my duties. " said Thor'nan.

CoQ seemed impressed by the answer, "Many people in this bar would want to kill for a chance at that position. Many have, in fact. Yet you have it. I have been asking about you, and everything I hear is beyond reproach. I am impressed."

"Given my background, I have to fight harder than any Klingon for my post. " said Thor'nan.

"And you understand how to show respect. For that reason I am approaching you as a man of honour. First I must have you swear that what we will discuss will not be repeated to anyone else? Do you give your word?"

"You have it, Counsellor. " said Thor'nan.

"House Matlh is no longer able or willing to support the three aged ships in our fleet. Each is older than either you or I, and you can see already that there are very few Klingons who will serve on them. The FHew is crewed by more aliens then Klingons, no offence intended. I am planning on disbanding the fleet. Uncle Ro' will not be pleased at this however. He has won much honour on this ship and hopes he will die on it. I wish to see my uncle honoured, which leaves me two choices; to have him die in battle, or to take the FHew from him in a way which will not belittle his honour. In this I am hoping to enlist your aid."

Thor'nan remained silent for a moment, thinking. Either way would allow Ro' to keep his honor.

"In a short time I will arrange an emergency of some sort. When it happens, I would hope a critical failure in one of the Ship's tactical systems would develop. Either Ro' would fight on, and earn the glorious death for he and his crew, or he would pull out and the FHew would need to be retired as unable to fight. In the later scenario, no failure is placed on Ro' and I am able to promote him to Military advisor to House Matlh."

"What will happen to the crew? To the rest of us? " asked Thor'nan.

"As for the crew, they will be well cared for. They can be returned to their Federation, or given places of responsibility in my House. For example, i am building a strong Army to replace the fleet. It will need well trained and honourable leaders. I know one such person, who fought May'bel Matlh to a standstill. That is not an easy feat."

"May'bel would have eventually beaten me. My technique is flawless, but humans don't have the stamina Klingons do. " said Thor'nan.

"Will you help me give my Uncle the honour he deserves before I close the fleet once and for all?"

"I will, Counsellor. I have no desire to see Ro' disgraced. He took me in after I allowed my last employer to be defeated and dishonuored. " said Thor'nan.

CoQ placed a hand on the man's shoulder, "You are not responsible for your former employer's lack of Honour. You performed your duty as best as you could. You were not defeated in combat despite superior numbers. There is no shame in what happened to you. I will be proud to have you lead in my army. Remember, do not mention this to anyone. Keep you eyes open for the right opportunity. I will try and send you a message with the code word, 'Honour', but you can't rely on it. take the opportunity to act when you see fit."

"In the mean time," He slides a slip of latinum across the table, "drink and be merry. Honour to you and your house."

With that, CoQ stood and left Thor'nan to his thoughts.
