Timeline   30 minutes after the FHew left the asteroid
Hope sat in the escape pod again. She was awake this time, though and nervous. She would see her father again, but everyone seemed to be trying to tell her that it would be bad. It had never been bad when she had been with him. She glanced again at the large view port that looked out onto the Asteroid surface and the field beyond it. she tried not to fiddle wit the latches on the helmet. She would need to put it on when her father got there so they could go back to the other ship. Soon... very soon...

In amongst the broken rocks the Borg Scout drifted. Inside there were only two dozen drones in place of the normal 30, and 7 of them were only partially assimilated. There had been so little time since they had been rammed by the Fairchild, and the cost in resources and energy to repair was a drain they could not easily account for. The Queen designate was damaged and failing. However, a new source of compatible biological parts had been identified in the form of the human child they were now going to recover. Once the errant drone had been recovered and her parts salvaged and integrated into the failing queen they would be able to return to the cube with the assimilation catalogue they had collected from this region of space. On top of that list is the Klingon Ship, FHew. On board was a member of Species 3. THAT was a priority.

As it came within range of the Asteroid on which they girl was waiting the rocks and debris were becoming uncomfortably close, but the Borg were used to taking minor damage and repairing it. What they were not used to were the magnetic mines which had been strapped to a number of the rocks. As the Scout ship passed the rocks began to draw together and suddenly explode. In confusion the Borg cube came to a halt as it tried to assimilate and adapt to the new challenge.

At that moment a red glow lit the rear section of the scout ship. Five Klingons appeared in the red glow; May'bel, Ru'fimohp, Lach Latlh, Marla and Thor'nan. The two Beq were carrying back pack units provided by Jared and HIchop, which had a thin film of frost over them and a hose to a trigger nozzle. The other three carried disruptor pistols with manual controls for adjusting the frequency quickly.

The mission was simple on face value: Find the Drone who used to be Hope's father. If possible the frozen Nitrogen guns should immobilise him for recovery. Otherwise terminate him.

The trouble was, they had 24 Borg to search through, and at best six shots from Disruptors to protect themselves with.

"We'll need to split up to search. Thor'nan, take Marla and Ru'fimohp. They should ignore us at first, but stay together and WATCH OUT for each other. Maintain open comms,"

He touched the grenade clipped to the front of his armour.

"You each have one of these, but don't be fooled - they probably won't do much damage to the Borg. Your disruptor and your blade is for the Borg. If they don't work, this is for you."

Thor'nan's finger twitched on the firing lever of his disruptor. He had never faced the Borg, but they made him apprehensive.

"Let's get this over quickly. " he said.

May'Bel nodded, "Let's go!"

May'bel and Lach moved one direction down the corridor while the other three moved the other way. It wasn't long before Thor'nan called a halt. A team of Borg were active ahead of them where the outer Hull was still open to space. Three drones were working to repair the structure. Two were int he vacume, but a third, still with the Starfleet engineering uniform visible through augmentations, was inside protected from the vacuum by a forcefield.

"Lucky for us the Humans are not fully assimilated yet, or we'd all be sucking vacuum," Ru'fimohp growled.

Marla looked closely at what they were working on. It seemed to be major power conduits. If only they had an explosive of some sort, they could do some major damage to the ship's internal systems.

Thor'nan motioned for his two security types to fan out and take up positions. Ru'fimohp crouched with his Liquid Nitrogen tank covering the area where the drones were working. Marla covered the path behind them from which they had come. So far there was no movement.

Elsewhere...

May'bel and Lach moved quickly along the corridor, passing regeneration cells spaced out far more than they were on a crowded Borg ship. Many were empty, and there were few Drones walking about. Obviously concentrating on repairs more than anything. Lach tapped May'bel's shoulder and pointed down a side corridor to a blue Starfleet uniform.

The pair moved down quickly. There were three ex-Fleeters here. The one they had seen from a distance was Vulcan. The second, wearing mustard, was a woman, but the third made May'bel hesitate. He was also wearing the mustard yellow of Security/Engineering, but May'bel thought he recognised the face. He double checked the tricorder. This was definitely the DNA tag they were after.

Lach brought his weapon up to his shoulder and let loose with a stream of super cold gas. The Drone took the hit without flinching, but the other two lurched immediately into action. May'bel, with twin disruptors already drawn and ready fired at them simultaneously. Both sparked and jerked and fell forward. Lach Stepped forward with a locator pin to fix onto the frozen drone, but stopped short when he hit a force field which now surrounded the frozen Drone.

"Qay'moH," [Problem] he reported back to May'bel.

Maybel turned and looked down the corridor they had come. More figures were now lurching through the dark corridor. He fired again but saw the green sparkle of shield that covered the drone in a protective coat.

"Qay'moH'a," [Big problem] May'bel replied as the ship woke up around him.

Meanwhile...

The ship around them began to light up and drones in the corridor that they had come down stepped out of the wall. They turned their back on the trio though, walking back towards the beam in site. The three repair drones continued their work.

"Nuq ghora'," [Your Orders?] Ru'fimohp asked, voice full of tension as he gripped his freeze gun and eyed the activity around him.
