Timeline   Eight days after the Borg incident
The FHew drifted through the heavy clouds of Qo'noS, wings locked for sub atmospheric flight. A strange silence had come over the normally boisterous crew. Most had spent a lot of time alone, working on repairing what they could or just finding an excuse to be alone with their thoughts.

As Hawk brought them down in one of the regional starports Ro' called the crew for a meeting in the Mess, the only room large enough to accommodate all 13 crew simultaneously.

When they were assembled, Ro' began without any preamble, "I am standing down the crew for a week's leave. The ship needs a thorough overhaul which, thanks to our old shipmate YIghegh, House Matlh can now afford to do. I am also authorising a bonus, for you to enjoy. It has been a long time since any of you celebrated like we did on DS12."

"Tell, shut down the ship. Hand off the command codes to the dockers. You can complain about the terrible job they have done when you get back."

"Jared, a large number of the systems on this ship have been tweaked by you. You may need to disable, or remove things. I don't need you to hand anything over you don't feel we should have."

"HIchop, YIghegh has informed me that he has found a full trained Federation Medic for our crew. Square away the Med bay and get yourself some new gear. If he works out, you will be freed of that onerous duty, and added to May'bel's Marines."

"Marie, I want you to break the bank open and issue an extra weeks pay to everyone. Feel free to make what deals you need while we are here, but you are on a weeks leave, so don't spend it all trying to restock our larder."

Marie noddoed quietly, If only it was so easy.... she thought.

"Marla, I believe you are going to meet your future husband, Tierk, while we are here. I wish you luck with that. I know Lach knows of him and of course his father Thor'nan. I wish your house the best of luck with the union, and may you find pleasure in this choice. Let us know what your final decision will be and if you will be making a union while we are hear so we can attend."

"Thor'nan. Your son Tierk comes of age in three days, and is due to meet his betrothed. It is a big day for a Klingon, and a hard day for a human. Let us know where the ceremony will be so we may attend on that day to witness him walk the line. IF all goes well, he will be joining us as a Beq, filling the place YIghegh left."

"Jason, this is your first time on Qo'noS I believe? Stay close to one of the crew so they may be sure you do not get into trouble you were not expecting to."

"May'bel, your mother has demanded a full update on the battle. I would rather fight it again than try and weather that woman's inquest. Visit her, for all our sakes."

"The rest of you, you are released on your own recon. Make me proud. Be back in seven days. Dismissed!"

"I have no reason to leave the ship...." Jason said knowing full well that Starfleet usually didn't mix well with Klingon.

Ro' glanced at him, "You obviously haven't met the Dock master here. His team will be refitting the ship and will resent a 'ejyo'bej [obvious Starfleet officer] under their feet. You have seven days. there is a Starfleet outpost in the main city if you wish to mingle with your own kind, or make some reports."

Jason laughed. "I fit in less with my own people than I do yours.... But, very well I will... as you say... make my reports." Jason wasn't looking forward to being surround by a bunch of Starfleet personnel, he had always been a loner and never got along really well for some reason with other humans.

"Your locking me out of my engine room?" asked Tell aghast at what Ro' had said. "Well of all the...." One look from the Captain told her not to push any further in her protest. "...nicest possible things you could ever do. Thanks a lot."
