Eat, Drink, Fight. Since arriving on Qo'noS, that seemed to be the order of things. There were more Starfleet uniforms walking around than he would have expected. The Klingons left them alone for the most part. Germite, on the other hand, was another matter. He was not Starfleet or any other sort of allied power. Even worse, his association with the House Matlh was commonly known. This generated its share of challenges. The major houses ignored him, but the lesser houses had warriors that liked to challenge him. Germite won a few and lost more. He gained honor by not quitting. Even when he was clearly losing a battle, he did not give up. Every battle he lost, he lost because he was knocked unconscious. Thankfully, the battles were not to the death, or at least not intentionally. There was no honor to be gained by killing a human, even if he was loosely affiliated with a house.

Germite stepped out of the way as the last occupant of a table went bumped into the bar next to him. "it looks like a table is available." He turned to the bartender and ordered a pitcher of ale. He picked it and walked over to the table.

Germite lost track of time. He was sitting at his table when he heard a commotion. He turned around, expecting to have to fight someone. Two human females had walked into the bar. He recognized them from the pictures in the file on the FHew that YIghegh had given him. He decided to wait until the hubbub died down before attempting to approach them.

"...and I have a feeling our reputation has ploughed roughshod ahead of us again." said Tell when her and Marie had entered "Great place you've brought us to, good atmosphere going by the looks were getting from everyone. Did you ring ahead and book us a table?"

"Book a table?" Marie sneered. "There's only one way to book a table in a place like this." She reached out, grabbed a collar and pulled. A body went sprawling. Beer spread across the floor.

"Hey, I was sitting there," Germite complained as he fell against the bar. He looked to the bartender. "Another pitcher and a couple of mugs. He picked them up and walked back over to the table.

Tell watched as the human picked himself up. He was a good six inches taller than her and not much to look at. "Don't fancy yours much," she whispered to Marie

Germite set the pitcher and mugs on the table. "Do you want to drink or do you want to fight?"

"Seeing as you brought the drink, lets have that first," Tell answered "As for fighting? Well the night is still young. Though I can't speak for Marie."

"I thought you said he was mine," Marie replied. "Do you want to fight for him now? Believe me, you can have him if you're that desperate." She pulled a mug across to her, filled it with beer and downed it in one go. Then she refilled the mug. "I think the jug needs replenishing," she said.

"Why don't you two get to know each other a little better while I go and get us a refill." said Tell looking at them both with a smirk.

Germite looked across at Marie. "Name's Germite, recent medic of the Red Army. Now unemployed looking for work."

Tell strode to the bar pulling herself upright in the hopes of making herself look taller than she was. There were an awful lot of tall and heavy people in here. If it had been anyone other than Tell they would not have stood a chance. However she needn't have worried, the crowd at the bar parted before her like the red sea and it wasn't out of politeness. All except one man who suddenly found himself with out a seat. The barman refilled the drink quickly and Tell headed back to the table where Marie was still sitting next to... no name.

"Still here then?" she asked him

Germite nodded, "Marie hasn't tossed me out of my seat again."

"The night's still young," Marie replied scathingly. "Plenty of time for fun and games later." She turned to Hope. "Looks like we've got ourselves a companion whether we like it or not. I hope lover-boy can handle the pace. I do so hate men who fade away just when I'm getting warmed up."

Germite arched an eyebrow. He wondered at what Marie was hinting about. He looked at the two of them and figured he'd at least give it the old college try at least at hanging with them drinking. Hopefully, they wouldn't start too many fights in here. "Don't worry, I can hold my own."

Marie snorted. She turned to Hope. "Yeah I'll bet he's good at that." She grabbed her drink and raised it shakily. Some of the liquid managed to make it into her mouth. She wiped a sleeve across her face. "Come on. This place bores me." She made to stand but collapsed back into the chair.

Derisive laughter greeted the effort. "What's the matter? Anyone like to make something of it." She pushed herself up. She swayed but succeeded in staying upright.

Germite watched to see if Marie would succeed in starting a fight. He would have to get used to this constant spoiling for a fight. If this kept up, he'd definitely have his hands full trying to keep the crew healthy.

Tell pushed her empty glass to one side and got up from the table only just slightly steadier than Marie. She grabbed her fellow crew mate by the arm. " Lets go find the next bar. Coming Dr Doom?"

Germite figured there was nothing to do but follow along. He'd try to keep his wits about him for the brawl that they were sure to start. He stood up, "Lead the way, General."

Had Marie been capable of walking in a straight line, she would have covered the distance to the door in little time. As it was, by the time she staggered around tables, bumped into drinkers and fell across chairs she'd probably gone twice the distance she needed to. She staggered through the door and pulled up short. The cold, fresh outside air almost made her double over after the stuffiness inside. She took two more steps then had to lean against the wall.

Tell watched Marie waver and sway towards the wall. "Are you giving up already, Marie? That's not like you." As she spoke, Tell could see that Marie was unable to go any further. She suddenly heard music, faint, but it was there. "Look, I'll find us somewhere, you stay here and I'll come back for you...ok. Nice Dr Doom will look after you, won't you Doc," asked Tell patting but missing him completely.

Marie heard something being said but couldn't make out what it was. She nodded anyway. The world swirled around her but one thought kept on at her - the need for another drink. She pushed herself off the wall, turned and began to walk away.

Germite shook his head. "C'mon Marie, we need to get you back to the Matlh apartments."

"Don't wanna," Marie said. "Night's still young. Find another tavern."

Germite took hold of Marie's arm and started to lead her away from the bar. "No, you really don't need anything else to drink."

Marie tried to shrug Germite off but he clung on. So, that's how you want to play it. She swung with her other hand and caught him a glancing blow to the side of the head.

Germite took a deep breathe. "It's not nice to hit, Marie." He reminded himself that he was attempting to join a Klingon ship. As such, he should respond in a Klingon manner. He twisted Marie's arm behind her back in the manner so he was using one hand to hold her arm and the other to hold her wrist. This time instead of leading her, he would try pushing her to the apartments. He just hoped she wouldn't take it as some sort of advance.

If nothing else, Marie was a street fighter. Years of training and experience surfaced through the fog of alcohol. She snapped her head back, catching Germite on the forehead. His grip relaxed momentarily but it was enough for her to break free. She pivoted, her arm coming round with the momentum of the turn. Unfortunately, her target had moved; her arm swung over Germite's head.

Marie did not have enough wits left about her to halt the spin. Her bunched fist banged into the wall she had been leaning on. She cried out, as much in anger and frustration as anything. She searched for her assailant, intent on taking out her pain on him. He was nowhere to be seen.

Germite was getting tired of fighting with Marie. The sooner this was ended, the better. Germite tapped Marie on her shoulder. When she turned, he hit her square on her chin with an uppercut.

Marie sagged. She tried valiantly to recover but...it wasn't going to happen.

Germite tossed Marie over his shoulder and started back to the apartments. On any Federation world, he would have been stopped by at least a constable and interrogated, but, here on Qo'noS, it was just an ordinary sight.
