Her dreams were confusing one second she was with Marie and the next at the Shebeen singing and then winning a competition. She couldn't get back onto the FHew and she couldn't help but blame Ro' for the mess she was in. Chris Maxx seemed to play a huge part in it. Then there was Jamie calling out to he telling her that everything was going to be ok. There was some kind of gaudy building, gauche and sparkly with lights everywhere. Someone pressed a flower into her hair and then....

"Oh... my... God" she said suddenly and quietly sitting bolt upright and not recognising where she was at first ,though it did have a familiar clinical smell. Sickbay! what the hell was she doing in sickbay and then in flashbacks it all came back to her.

She was so hungry and couldn't remember the last time she had eaten. She swung her legs over the side of the bed and then she realised she wasn't in her own clothes but wearing some kind of night shirt.

"And stop right there." Came a voice she recognised who quickly swung her legs back onto the bed and placed a tray in front of her. "Your wedding breakfast my lovely wife Tell. It should be more romantic than this I know but we can work on that later when we have more time."

"How did I get like this?" she demanded pulling at her shirt. "Did you do this? You have got some flaming nerve. Your operations not some damned pretend medic. How dare you"

"Actually I am a Dr. Maxx the opp's expert" replied Chris as if that explained everything. "I have the credentials to ptove it."

"A joined Trill, well this definitely won't work." Tell told him as she ate. Hunger over came the temptation to throw the food at him. "I can't be married to you, besides I don't even know you and you... don't even know me. I would have remembered if you had proposed."

"I thought we might have a life time getting to know each other." he replied picking up his coffee from her tray "And besides I didn't propose to you, you proposed to me."

"I did not"

"You did too."

They were silent for a few minutes as Tell ate. "I am not married to you, I can't be." she swore she would never get married again and never let another man get the better of her.

Half of her wanted more than anything to be held once more in his arms but her other side, her wilder, untamed side wanted nothing more than to break his jaw.

"A friend gave this to me a long time ago." explained Chris opening a small box. Tell knew what it was instantly. "Its Celtic and quite old I think." He stroked the delicate ring before taking her left hand and placing it on her finger. It had an emerald heart at its center with hands holding it either side and a crown above it.

"A Claddagh ring must not be bought but given as a gift. Worn on the right hand with the heart pointing out means that the heart is uncommitted. Worn on the same hand with the heart pointing in means that the heart is taken. Worn on the left hand with the heart pointing in means Let Love and Friendship reign forever, never to be separated. The hands are for friendship, the heart is for love, and the crown is for loyalty, held high above. I thought it would remind you of the night at the Shebeen. It suits you." Tells ring faced inward just as he had placed it.

"I am not your wife and never will be." she said standing up and tipping the remains of her tray om the floor. She defiantly took the ring off and threw it across the room. As if putting an end to this nonsense.

"Good grief woman your marvelous when your angry and you damn well deserve to be kissed." (OOC: Mills and Boon here, I know you like it.)

"Do it and I will break your finely chislled jaw with its 5 o'clock shadow and give your hair a permenent side parting to remember me by."

"I'm willing to take the risk." he told her as he stepped nearer to the enraged engineer. "Who knows it could start a trend amongst the crew." (OOC: End of Mills and Boon,)

Suddenly with out warning he took Tell in his arms and kissed her just as she stamped on his toe. If it was painful he showed no sign, not even a flinch. She could have easily fought him off but her traitourous mind gave in and she melted in his arms.

"What was I drinking last night?" Tell asked him when all the fight had gone out of her... for now that is. She let her head rest on his shoulder.

"The last drink you had was a Guinness with a potcheen chaser." he told her "I did try to warn you but you wouldn't listen to me."

"I think its time I talked to Jamie?" she said

He nodded as he released his arms around her and wanted nothing more than to just be near her. He kissed her tenderly again. "There are some clothes for you in the locker over there."

Tell opened the locker door but only found only civilian clothes there. "Where the hell is my uniform? Where are my knives?"

"Don't worry" Chris replied "Your knives are here and your uniform is being cleaned. Its taking a while to get rid of the...the, er, and I am just going to come straight out with it here... smell."

Tell glared at him. "Its supposed to, dammit."

"I'll just go and see if I can find it then and your brother too." He told her heading out of the door quickly. "You could always wear one of those but stay and I'll come back for you."

The door closed silently behind him and Tell waited a few seconds before scrambling wildly on the floor trying to find the ring.

Outside sickbay Chris gave way to pain. He hobbled away to find the nearest med kit knowing full well that his toe was broken.
