Smoke filled the corridor and Germite had to hold one wall while he tried to move along. the ship shook under weapons barrage. His tricorder indicated an injured Klingon somewhere ahead of him but it was hard to find them in this haze.

The ship took a sudden judder and he was thrown forward and landed heavily on a body. His face told him immediately it was not wearing Klingon armour though. He sat up chocking in the smoke to try and assess the injury and work out who it was.

To his surprise he had never seen the man before. It was a young Bolian in Starfleet yellow.

"Who're you? How did you get here?" He asked the Bolian, only to realize the Bolian wasn't capable of answering.

A figure emerged through the haze, a Bajoran in Starfleet teal, "Another one over here."

More Starfleet officers emerged from the haze, two moving to collect the Bolian while the first turned to Germite, "Come one, Doctor. We need to get all civilians out of this section of the base. Commander says the leaks are only going to get worse."

A puzzled look crossed Germite's face. "Base? What base? Where are we?"

"Corridor 5-17, Sir." The Bajoran replied. "The smoke can make things a little disorienting. We can't risk the turbo lifts so we will just have to leg it. That is if you are up to it, sir."

There was something in the tone of the young man that worried Germite. He had to admit he was feeling very tired, stiff and sore. Running was not something he wanted to do.

Germite looked at the youngster. He thought that was odd. He wasn't a spring chicken, but he wasn't old either. He wiped his hand across his eyes. That was odd.

Germite's Commpin chirruped, "Doctor Ephilom to Operations. The Captain wants to see you immediately."

Germite didn't dwell on the thought. He looked to the Bajoran, "Lead the way."
