Jared took a deep breath. Then began turning the Inverter resonance up hoping to find the right frequency by chance if nothing else.

There was a sudden shudder and the ship bridge exploded in smoke and flames as waves of temporal energy washed out of space. Jared had to hold on tight as the ship was buffetted, but when he looked up he saw the crew were back in their places as if he hadn't spent the last week trying to find their resonance echo.

Ro' glanced around the smoke filled bridge. He tingled and his eyes watered in the acrid smoke, but he could see again.

"All stations, Report!" he bellowed.

OOC: Use this moment to give a response to being young and back on the bridge. DON'T post about anyone missing yet. There is still a surprise to come.

Marie tapped all over her body like she was giving herself a shakedown. Satisfied – though disbelieving – that she was still in one piece, she looked over at the navigation system. Her eyes opened wide. “Navigation is on-line,” she said incredulously.

HIchop glanced quickly about the smoke filled bridge. It was impossible to make out anyone clearly but it looked as if all the stations were manned. When they had left they were in the middle of the battle. He glanced at the sensors data.

"The Borg cube is no longer on sensors. No debris, but I am picking up a half dozen smaller Brog ships. Most of the other factions are still her; Tholian, Ferengi, Federation, Romulan, Nausican, Breen..."

"Minimal damage to port side," reported Tell who felt slightly off centre. She looked at her hands as they flew across the engineering panel. They were her hands, youthful and strong and not a liver spot in sight. "Shields are down, cloaks off line and surprisingly enough there are no fires. Our friendly Borg self repair functions are... amazingly active and Maries patch has disappeared along with my wrinkles." Astoundingly enough the engine seemed to be still in one piece Tell thought though she couldn't say the same thing for her nerves.

Germite felt energy surge through his body as his 'youth' returned. He glanced down at his hands and saw that they had been restored. After taking a deep breath, he looked across his console. "Life support is functioning normally." The console beeped at him. "HoD, we have an incoming message from the Tholians."

Ro' shot him a quizical look. The Tholians never talked.

"On screen."

Germite nodded, "Patching it through."

The viewscreen flickered as the image of a Tholian appeared on screen. The clicks of tholian speech came across the speaker and the computer added subtitles since the speech was to difficult to translate directly.

- It seems that we may not be so disimilar in our people. Here the Cold bodies fight to destroy our hated enemy with us. There are still some smaller Drone ships. Will you join us in vanquishing these, and perhaps begin a new age of understanding between our people. -

Ro' rose slowly from his chair, "Do I understand you correctly? You are discussing the terms of mutual non-aggression?"

- Even so and more. We stand at the steps of a new age, one where we can forge a mighty empire that gathers all our lesser territories under it, larger perhapse than the T'Kon or Iconian empires. -

Ro' lowered himself back into his seat. Everyone on the bridge knew what was about to happen. Ro' would give the order to attack the Borg ships. Other races would join and a mutual task force would work together, eventually bonding to become the great empire of the future. It would work. They had all seen it. They had been there.

At what cost must it have been for Ro' to give the order. Knowing he was dooming himself to the body of an elderly, blind, sideshow attraction on a forgotten world in the future.

"Weapons. Open fire."

And here is where the final twist of fate took them. Had it been Marla at the Weapons console the future would have unrolled like a rug. But Marla had not made it back with them. Here echo had been left empty. throught hte return the echo was filled by a memory from the very ship itself. A hand was summoned who belonged in the ship, who should lways have been in the ship ina way that Marla no longer could. And so it was his hand that pressed the fire button.

HoS opened fire on the already damaged Tholian vessel which erupted in a plume of blue heat. All around them Vessels began to fight with each other as much as with the reamining smaller Borg ships. The future tore into shreds. HoS picked more targets, Breen then a Borg, then the Ferengi, and continued to fire.

And everyone on the Bridge stared at HoS, standing at the ready at Tactics. Then they all turned as one to look at Jared.

He shrugged, "Told you it would be a little bit unpredictable..."
