Timeline   12 hours from Iapetus at Warp
The ship the Corporate Executive used was luxurious in the extreme. Lynx was given access to the second VIP suite, though she was assured the journey would only take a few hours. The floors from the airlock to the room were deep plush carpet, and she had a personal staff of five who quickly, quietly and efficiently saw to her comfort. It reminded her of her home. It was not entirely a pleasant memory, but she knew how to behave. She was also aware that she was being kept in her room. The corporation didn't entirely trust the Federation operative.

After about eight hours of flight she was invited to a viewing lounge. There were a number of deep set, comfy chairs arranged facing a large screen, currently showing the view in front of the ship. As she was shown to a chair a variety of refreshments was presented for her selection.

A moment later her host, the grey individual known as J arrived. He took a chair next to her with a practised smile but waved away the offered food.

"Are you enjoying the flight, Lieutenant Moonshadow?" he asked conversationally.

"Oh, of course." She said trying to fake enjoyment. She was starting to feel a bit uncomfortable at the memories this was bringing up. This was part of the reason she accepted the spot on a Klingon ship. She knew comfort was not going to happen there.

J nodded again, "Good, good. And you, Ambassador?"

There was a moments confusion as Lynx looked around the otherwise empty room until a momentary movement caught her eye and she looked up. The high vaulted ceiling was in almost complete shadow; the illumination hanging low from cords. In the darkness something moved and chittered.

"] @g t[hr[hy [x r[tt[w%fx x& x*ff xp* r[tt*l*hw* q*xv**h n&%l l*tl*zpg*hxz @hr n&%l y%*zxz."

J seemed to understand and gave a slight laugh, "I understand, but do try. We will be arriving at our destination... Now."

As he spoke the view of streaked stars resolved itself into a normal, Impulse speed starscape. It appeared to be dominated by a large asteroid belt. The ship seemed to be closing on the belt at high speed.

A bit of panic fled through her mind as she noticed the closely coming asteroids. She tried to stay calm, and was able to, but that stop her from panicking on the inside.

"So, where exactly are we going?"

J waved at the approaching asteroids, "Somewhere there. We are probably close enough for them to notice us."

As it if response to his words small flecks seemed to break away from the field and stream towards them. With a slight shock Linx realized these were small craft and the asteroids she could see were being pushed along in front of a massive fleet hundreds of kilometers across.

J gestured to the figure on the ceiling, "If you would be so kind as to announce our intent, before they eat us?"

The creature shifted and chittered again, but Linx was sure the message was being broadcast, and not intended for those inside the craft.

"L*w&yh[m* gn zg*ffz @z @ g*r[w@f *hx[xn. ] @g ql[hy[hy x&&fz x& l*g&c* xp* g*x@f q[&f&y[w@f [ht*wx[&h xp@x [z @g[rzx xp* tf**x. $ff&v j@zz@y* @hr z@t* l*g&c@f."

The trajectory of the small craft shifted and they flew in escort as the larger Corporate ship approached.

"The FHew is in there somewhere hiding. We just have to find her," J supplied.

"Oh..." said Linx quietly. This was different than anything she had seen before, but that's part of the reason she was out here. She wanted to see new things, but who exactly was the creature in the ship with her?

As if reading her mind J leaned over and whispered quietly, "The good doctor there was installed on a luxury liner I once served on. He is a member of the Icthoid race, and we are witnessing one of their swarms now. They are a very ancient race, from before your sun had even formed. We have nothing to fear provided he is on board... and we don't dress up as a lizard."

He settled back in his chair and watched the screen, "And now we wait. Appetizer?"
