There was a small party assembled outside the airlock door when Tell Mike and Marie stepped out. Commandant Steele stepped forward and gave a slight bow to Tell, "Captain Ro'. I have heard so much about you. Allow me to introduce my son, Ranko."

A smaller man with black hair slicked back in the same manner as his father stepped forward. He appeared to be barely out of his teens and leered at the away team, "Which of these women is mine?"

"Neither of us, junior," Marie replied curtly.

Ignoring him the Commandant continued to a trim looking woman of unknown race, "This is Martavatta, our head of medicine."

The woman gave the same slight bow, "I have assembled all of the medical staff on the station... except one," here she shot a glance at the commandant, "and a number of the medics from some of the ships in port at the moment. We are very keen to hear your lecture. When can you begin?"

The Commandant smiled indulgently, "My people are men of action. They do not sit idly by. I have learned there are times when it pays to take some time out. So, while your Doctor gives her lecture to Martavatta and co, we will retire to my conference room for some light refreshment."

"Father!" the young man interrupted again. "You promised me my own function!"

There was a flash of emotion across the older man's face, but it was gone before any could really work out what it was, "Of course, Renko. This lady here," he pointed to Marie, "Will be happy to indulge you with her own Klingon customs."

Tell indicated to Marie that she should move forward she only hoped that what ever culture Marie chose hurt the boy just enough not to kill him.

<ยก>Maybe he was paying attention to the brat, Marie thought. "Alright, youngster," she said with all the venom she could muster, "while these fools talk medicine, let's me show you something of the joys of Klingon mating rituals. Make sure you can keep up, mind.'

"Keep up," the boy sneered, "as if you would be more than a minor distraction. This way."

He strode off obviously expecting Marie to follow behind. Marie said something unflattering under her breath and followed.

Martavatta cleared her throat, "If you would follow me, Doctor; your classroom awaits."

"Which just leaves the two of us," Steele commented. "Come, I have prepared refreshments."

OOC: And a private post coming with its own challenges and specific place in the plot for you too.

Oh no thought Tell Not the Klingon muck that passes for food... anything but that.
