Tengchah 20, or Starbase 20 in the Federation equivalent, was a minor ship refit and repair station. It was designed to resupply long range craft and was not equipped to deal with a fleet.

When the FHew dropped out of warp they saw chaos. Two large Neg'var were docked at the dryports and being worked over frantically. Many Vorchar were waiting for their turn through triage, while the many K'vort and K't'inga were being forced to do what repairs they could while adrift. Comms chatter was a frenzy of competing calls for aid. countless shuttles were running between ships, bringing spares to where they were needed and stripping down the few ships deemed irredeemable.

The Fhew was not able to get a message to the starbase, but was eventually able to get in contact with a Sogh aboard the IKS Kut'luc, which was acting as flagship for the fleet that were left.

"IKC FHew reporting, Sogh," Ro' spoke to the Klingon on the other end of the line. "Where can we be most useful?"

The Sogh had been injured in the fight, and had a makeshift patch over one eye, "FHew, that is a ship of House Matlh, is it not? DO you have a competent medic on board?"

"Two," Ro' replied looking at Mike and Germite then, as an after thought, at HIchop, "and my Second officer makes a mean tourniquet."

"Have them report to the Kut'luc. Our medical staff are dead. Engineers?"

"Two, also," Ro' looked at Tell and jaqwI'.

"The NiH'tah and Bremoth are in critical need. Apart from that, it is really knowing which supplies need to get where by priority."

"My Tactical officer is a capable Quartermaster, Sogh, and we have Federation allies on their way with additional supplies."

"They will be needed. Make no mistake, Captain. The Gorn will be looking to follow up on their victory, and Station 20 is next in the path."

"Then I will dispatch my Marines and Science officer to assist in preparing the station defenses."

The Sogh scoffed, "If you think that it will help, but I think we are beyond the help of Science."

"Jared, is a TiQ," Ro' said carefully. The Sogh on the line noticeably changed.

"A Vetus? I have heard the stories, but... Perhaps then we do have some hope..."

"Even when there is no hope for victory, there is still hope for glory. Qapla!"

The line went dead and Ro' turned to his assembled crew, "You see what we are facing. This is wartime surgery and repairs. fix it, and fix it fast. there is no time for pretty. The Gorn could arrive in minutes or hours. Get your things. If you need to die today, die well."

Marie looked at Tell. “Get a list together of what you need, then get a list of what can substitute for what you need. I’ll see what I can do about procuring it. I’ll be on the station putting lists together of my own but you’re better at identifying what can and can’t be done than I am.”

"Already on it," replied Tell "Come on Jackie lets make a very long list."

She leaned in and pecked Tell lightly on the cheek. “Good luck and don’t keep me in suspense for too long. The sooner I have your list, the sooner I can fill it.”

Tell inwardly sighed. "Not in front of the Klingons. You'll have my list within the hour."

Marie smiled. She turned to Germite and Mike. “Same goes for you two. Get the lists to me quickly.”

"I am sure Germite and myself can come up with a suitable list for you between the two of us." She eyed him off. "As long as we will be doing PROPER care and not just killing every Klingon that comes through the door."

Lastly she turned to Jared. She opened her mouth then closed it again and shook her head. “Don’t bother with a list, I wouldn’t understand it anyway. When you know what you want, come find me on the base; we’ll probably manage a lot better working together.”

Hichop picked up his med kit still in his quarters. It included clotting agents, an organic suture, foam dressing applicator, pain blocking drugs (if bloodwine is not enough) and a laser scalpel to cut away any dead tissue. It was all he needed to either get someone back on their feet or repair them enough to survive until after the threat.

Tell was never very good at saying goodbye so simply said "See you later all."

Marie was a bit miffed she didn't rate any personal farewell but she let it go. She gave Tell a dig in the ribs with her elbow. “Don't do anything I wouldn't do,” she said with a leer. “Keep an eye out for good pubs. I’ll be expecting a list of those too for after this operation is over.”

Tell turned back and playfully punched Marie on the shoulder. "Don't go getting yourself killed either, its your turn to pay for the next pub crawl." Tell turned and walked out.

Hichop was a little puzzled. Some of the crew seemed concerned about leaving the FHew on a missions like any other; they either lived or they died. After pondering for a few moments he simply shrugged his shoulders and mumbled, "Humans."

Ro' threw his arms around HIchop and sobbed, "If I never see you again, tell my wife I loved her. Then tell your wife, and May'bel's, and that cute chick at the dinner..."

Hichop laughed at the obvious jibe Ro' was making at the expense of the Human crew. Hichop may not have considered it as funny if he had had a wife, or Ro' had, or May'bel... as for the woman at the dinner...
