Dat'oxo strode along the corridors of the FHew; the ship had seen many battle; her honor never to be questioned like the Warrion Battle Wagon she is; the fact he might serve on such a ship after the loss of the station and so many for the Glory of Victory is a price all warriors must make. It is the vow of every Klingon to give his life for the empire; Dat'oxo is no exception. The Bat'leth on his back had cut flesh, the other weapons upon him have all seen blood; it was the way of the Warrior.

Coming onto the Bridge Dat'oxo saw the Captain in his chair; he strode up to the Captain. "I am Zorc Dat'oxo, Daq Hegh vam [bat'leth] quv SoH" [To death this Bat'leth honors you.] Dat'oxo gave his vow saluting the Captain.

Ro' stood and gave the formal reply, "I accept your life into my hands."

"We speak Federation Standard on the Bridge, if you have learned it," he added in less formal tones. "You will be aware it is not uncommon for officers to speak it, allowing them to have discussions without their crew understanding. On the FHew however, it is in deference to the fact that nearly half of my crew are Federation."

"Sov jagh Sov jIH'egh." [Know enemy, know myself.] " Dat'oxo replied. "I can speak as you wish me to Sir." He continued in Federation tongue. "I have studied them and their language. I also know Romulan Tongue and Vulcan off shoot of it."

"Unfortunately, I no longer have a Romulan First officer," Ro' sighed. "She, at least, knew how to fight, albeit from the shadows."

He looked around the near empty bridge, "Things run a little differently on every ship, so for the sake of you finding your place fast, here is the run down. Your rank is based entirely on who you can find who will accept your orders. How you assert your authority is up to you, but don't under-estimate anyone on this crew, or it will end badly for you. Have you had a chance to meet anyone properly yet?"

"Only she who assigned us quarters and yourself on the station." Dat'oxo replied in Federation. "I feel we will become aquainted in battle; the best way to fine the heart of a crew. Until then I shall meet as is required. "I find follow me or we die tends to even the relationship under most conditions that count." he Straightened. "As is said of Kahless; a retainer seeks first the needs of his Master then his needs will be achomplished as well with honor."

"Then that is your first task," Ro' grinned malevolently. "Meet and get to know the officers you are serving with. Their strengths and weaknesses are yours as well, now."

"It shall be done Sir." The calm of the tone showed his determination to achieve that objective."

Ro' nodded to dismiss the officer. There were times he really missed the ferocious efficiency of his kin.

"Those were the days," he muttered to himself.
