Tell watched him leave, the door closing silently behind him, she rested her head on the wall unable to move. She just needed to rest her eyes and give her self time to think. Time, just how long had she been in here? more than a few hours that was for sure, days a week perhaps? She couldn't tell,
'Tell that's my name not Theresa' she told herself. 'It's Tell'

She closed her eyes just for a minute to try and get rid of the awful headache she was experiencing and she knew it was caused by dehydration. Her eyes grew heavy with sleep and her restless mind took her back to the FHew.

This time Ro' was nowhere to be seen but she found herself sitting opposite Jared in the mess hall.
"Tell me what to do Jared?" she asked him "What am I going to do?, what am I going to do?" she sobbed.
Jared didn't say anything but just smiled, looked at her with sympathy and continued on with what he was doing.

His fingers seemed to be working on something very small and delicate. When Jared placed it down he got up and walked away from her but not before placing a hand on her shoulder. The small copper dragon that Jared had left there on the table had reminded Tell of the gift he had given her once.Right before her eyes it moved and began to fly near to Tell, she tried to touch the little creature but it just stayed out of her reach. She placed her hand down and just watched as the tiny dragon with flouresent wings hovered in front of her eyes. Tell was mesmerised by it and then unexpectedly and with out warning it shot fire into her eyes.

She woke up with a sudden start as searing pain shot through her shoulder and remembered where she was. With a great deal of difficulty she got up and walked over to the wash basin and sipped some of the water slowly not wanting to make herself sick. She then looked down into it and saw her own reflection, fear and panic was etched across it and she tried to wash the image away by rinsing her face in the water.

She eased her clothes off her and placed them onto the shute that Jones had indicated and stood there naked and vulnerable. She stepped into the cubicle and would have given anything for her shower on the FHew and to feel the soothing refreshing water on her dry skin. Tell leant up against the wall and cried silently she was caught in a deadly trap and could feel her real self slipping away from her.
"I'm Tell, I'm Tell" she repeated to herself.

When the shower stopped her skin felt refreshed but her mind achingly tired. It took her a few moments then to realise that there were no clean clothes for her, nothing to wrap herself in. The ultimate humiliation now, to be naked in front of Jones, she had been a fool to toss her clothes away and a fool to think there would be something there for her to wear. She eased herself into the corner, pulled her legs up close and wrapped her good arm around them, her eyes closed.

The door opened again and Jones came in. Good to his word he was carrying a bowl of food. It was a simple porridge, but it was warm and smelt of cinamon and apples. There were no utensils but it was cool enough to eat with fingers or even just pour straight into her mouth.

Jones placed the food in the centre of the floor and stepped back. He watched her for a while.

Tell didn't hear him come in she had fallen so deeply asleep that not even her mind could rescue her this time and take her back to the place where she longed to be. Instead she found herself in total blackness, a supreme nothingness, devoid of all time and space. She felt nothing, no panic, no fear and so she thought she would stay here for a while.

Jones watched as Tells arm loosened itself from around her legs, her body exposing itself to him as she slid down the wall and onto the floor.

"You look terrible, Theresa. What did they make you do to your hair?"

Theresa's eyes opened, slowly recovering from the feint, she found herself once more back in the dreadful present. She was savagely torn and robbed from the oblivion she so ultimately desired . The haunting voice was there again. Why couldn't he just leave her alone? She wanted the darkness, longed for it. Theresa pushed herself up on her good arm and the smell from the porridge made her traitorous stomach growl with hunger. She couldn't remember the last time she ate, but she couldn't bring herself to reach out for it not with Jones standing there watching her.

"They did nothing to my hair, I did it, me, my choice," she told him "I hate long hair."

He placed a small device on the floor near her bowl. It was a dermal laser designed for surgical alteration but useless as any sort of weapon, unless you wanted to agressively remove someone's freckles... or hair.

"There has been an incident," Gerrat continued in subdued tones. "The Romulan and the rat-man who were with you were also captured when you were. Despite being kept alive and fed, treated well, they have tried to escape. Colin was killed. His wife want's me to dump them both into space."

Theresa looked at him wide eyed. "Let me see them.. please....Master."

Gerrat smiled at the name. He looked at Tell, "I should do it, Theresa. It is the right thing to do. But I know they are your friends and... I am willing to give you the choice. Cast off the old life and come back to me. Shave off that ridiculous hair cut and let your hair grow again with me. I fyou do this, I will let your friends go, alive and unharmed, on the next Federation world we reach. They will have escaped Ubatti with their lives and have you to thank for it."

His face darkened, "But if you continue to defy me, I will drop the cargo pod they are in straight into the next sun we pass and let you hear their dying screams as they roast."

That was the last thing Theresa wanted, to see Hay'legh and Jared die because she was to proud, defiant and stubborn to save their lives. Then sudden realisation hit her, she had no choice..... she had no way of telling if he was lying to her or not. Tell was lost now forever and only Theresa could now make this decision. She choose life for them and surrender for her. Veins of tears escaped her eyes and flowed freely down her hollowed cheeks. She vowed there and then that they would be the last tears she would ever shed.

"I will give you a few minutes to think. The device is there if you choose to use it. If you do I will get you some clothes and send Nicholai down to look at that shoulder of yours. There is some nasty bruising there."

Theresa winced with pain as she reached for the device, Tell had been lucky after all she had got her wish.
