The funeral was over, and Marla needed some questions answered. She headed to a house near her old home and started to look around for the one person who might be able to help her; her uncle Fen'riS. Walking into his house, she found her Uncle dealing with an erant Targ in teh front garden.

"Greetings, Uncle Fen'riS."

Fen'riS looked up his face split wide for a moment, "Marla?"

"Yes Uncle, it is Marla." Marla watched as a smile appeared on her uncle's face. He looked so much like her father, yet different still.

Fen'riS face dropped the smile that had been forming, "You have come to inter your father, my elder brother, yes?"

"Yes, I have, but I have some questions now."

Fen'riS gave the Targ a final slap to chase it out then turned his full attention on Marla, "Walk with me."

They walked in silence a moment before Fen'riS said, "You know I have formed my own house now? with Jare's actions as head of house Varquis bringin disrespect, I had to distance myself. In doing so I sacrificed any claim to the property my brother has now left. I can not save your heritage for you, and as a woman, you may not own the land and titles either."

Marla knew the customs of her people, and knew that even if she did stay, that she would be hunted as much as her father was, if not more. "I don't want to stay here anyway. My place is with my ship now. What will become of my house now?"

"They will go to auction, and most likely be bought by Torvad. He has hated your father for many years, and often spoken out against him publically. If it weren't for the fact that Jare was twice the warrior that sniveling petaQ'a was, I would almost think it was Torvad who had killed Jare."

Marla spoke through her teeth. Finally an answer she had been looking for. "Who is Torvad?"

"Torvad is a believer in the purity of the Klingon race. He is opposed to alliances with Federation and Romulans. He took Jare's marriage and your birth as an insult to all he values. If he wasn't from such a rich and powerful family, I do not doubt that he would have met an untimely end many years ago."

"That petaQ not only murdered my father, but did so in a way that dishonored his own family!" She was at this point speaking through her teeth as not to scream from the anger that was coursing through her veins. "My father was poisoned, Uncle. I need to regain his honor so he may be able to enter Sto Vo Kor! Where is this man now?"

Fen'riS stopped and turned to Marla, "If what you say is true, then you have the Right of Vengance; single combat to the death. I do not doubt for a moment you will win, as Torvad is weak. Getting to him is another thing entirely. The challenge must be uttered to his face, and he travells heavily guarded. I do not know where he lives, but there are many traders in the market who are happy to take his money and must know where deliveries are made. I would start there."

"Then that is where I will be heading."

"Go. The longer you wait, the better prepared Torvad will be against you."

Marla turned quickly, and headed toward the Market. There begins her journey to avenge her father's murder.
