It had takenTell much longer than she thought to design the outfit for Michelle. Mainly because Tell couldn't find the right idea. She knew she was being overly fussy about it but she wanted to do this right for the woman who had saved her life.

She was in engineering putting the finishing touches to the support vest that she was designing for Michelle. Well 'vest' would be an understatement, bodice or corset would be more of a better description. She only hoped she hadn't gone to far with it.

It was almost Klingon in style but with added features from other earth cultures. Its colour was blue/black with a space for her rank pin on a neck piece. she might not like that, thought Tell but she could add it elsewhere if needed.

The bodice of the corset was made up of woven interacting leaves spreading outwards and upwards. A 'V' shape contrasting metal with an etched design of a vine accentuated the body while smaller layer leaves made up the main body of the piece. Fold upon fold of metal covered the lower abdomen and hips making the the whole area look like a growing tree denoting strength and power.

It was delicate and light but at the same time it would give support where it needed. Tell had also made shoulder pads of the same leaves that could also be attached but had she overstepped the mark by making a headpiece to go with it?

Well if she didn't like it Tell could always sell it on 'Big Al's space bay'.

,'. Engineering to sickbay ,'.

Mike hears the comm and heads over. ,'. Sickbay here. What's up Theresa?,'.

,'. I need you in engineering,'. Tell replied ,'.for a fitting,'.

,'. I'll be down shortly, I just have one thing to finish up here ,'.

Mike turns back to Ro'. "I'm all done, Theresa wants me down in engineering. Was an interesting chat, thank you."

Ro' just nods as Mike leaves.

--------------------

Mike arrives in engineering a short time later and presses the door buzzer.

Tell had deliberately covered up her work until Michelle came in. It was to late to have second thoughts about the design but Tell thought it would help Michelle fit in more with the rest of the crew. She herself had adjusted her Klingon uniform to suit her style and needs, no one seemed to take much notice unless she counted her Klingon ...friend.

"Yeah, come in"

Mike walks in. "What exactly did you mean by a fitting? It is done right?"

"Well it is done," Tell replied almost apologetically "Are you ready for the big reveal?"

Tel was going to ask her to have an open mind about it and remember that she was on a Klingon vessel but thought better of it. She walked over to where the cover protected the outfit and revealed her creation underneath. She swept it away and then turned back to Michelle.

"Well... what do you think?" she asked "It has reinforced support here and here and there's..."

Mike was stunned. "Oh hell no! No way. Absolutely not! I wanted armour and protection, not a scant almost non-existent body show!"

"There's a... and a..." Tell lost her track of thought just then. Perhaps she had gone one step to far after all on the detail, perhaps it was too revealing on the bodice. She fought down the anger rising inside her which would have been so typical of Tell.

"Look why don't you try it on," she suggested "You know what its like when you see clothes on a hanger they look better when they are worn. Then we can make some adjustments, you haven't heard what it can do yet."

"I don't even want to really try it on. It's just too....revealing." Mike looks at the look on Tells face and takes a step back.

"Alright, alright!! I'll try it on, but I ain't gonna be happy about it."

Mike walks over and pulls a screen around and starts trying to get it on.

"Ahhh...Theresa? I'm a little stuck here."

"Stuck!" asked Tell "It should fit you perfectly."

She pulled the screen away and sighed when she saw what it was. "You might want to take off your Fleeter jumper first. Try it again."

Tell pulled the screen round once more.

"Really? I was hoping to keep that...." Mike reluctantly takes it off. "Well, it fits now at least. I'm still really against this....It doesn't seem...practical...More like a distraction for make crew members...."

"Look why don't you come out, it's only the first fitting and we can adjust and add to it if its too revealing. I have plenty of suit armour left. You can have a shrug made out of your fleeter jumper if you would like."

"Fine. I'm still not a fan of it." Mike steps out from behind the curtain. "What do you think?"

Tell thought she looked fantastic in it. She walked around the Doctor with the studied eye of an engineer. She pulled and adjusted the armour into shape. She tweaked the leaves of the bodice so that it came up higher and pulled the lower pat further over her hips.

"Oh I've forgotten all about these."

Tell reached out for two long sleeves that she had made from the mesh of the inside of the suit. She added on the shoulder pads and secured them to the mesh. The engineer slipped them on over the Doctors arms and then adjusted and fitted them to the main bodice.

Michelle looked stunning. "Now tell me you don't like it."

"I'm still not sure. I don't see how it's going to help as much as just adjusting the other armour to fit would have been..."

Tell reached over for another piece of the outfit. "I suppose this might be out of the question then? I've adjusted the helmet and made it thinner and lighter. It still has all its features but there are some added extras too." Tell passed it over to her.

Mike takes the helmet. "Such as?"

"Well, it does all the same stuff the helmet did previously, but it also as a pop-down screen here," Tell pushes a button on the side of the helmet and the screen slides down. "That links with your tricorder, making it easier for you to read it on the run, rather than looking at that annoying little small screen they all seem to have."

Mike ponders this for a moment. "I think that may have just sold it to me Theresa." She smiles

Tell smiles and fastens a neck band around Michell's neck. "Gotta show your rank," she added "though you can add it somewhere else if you need too"

Tell stood back and admired her work. It wasn't so over the top that she would stand out but she was more likely now to blend in with the rest of them.

She reached for her camera. "Are we going to be Tell and Mike now?" she asked

Mike nods. "I certainly prefer Mike to Michelle." She pauses. "As long as I fit in a bit better now, I'm happy."

Tell aimed her camera at Mike. "Say cheese."
